Financial Support
We partner with care providers in Columbus and Central Ohio to serve those who are grieving.
Are you a social worker, healthcare provider, nonprofit staff member, or other professional who works directly with parents who have lost a baby in pregnancy or infancy and can demonstrate financial need? If so, please reach out to learn more about our PAIL Financial Grant Program (PFGP) and to explore becoming a referral partner.
Our PAIL Financial Grant Program offers one-time financial support to parents in Ohio who are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and lose a baby at 20+ weeks of pregnancy or in the first year of life. To qualify, individuals must be referred by a Referral Partner
Families at or below 200% of FPL are disproportionately impacted by stillbirth and infant mortality. The loss of a baby usually results in some loss of income, which can drive further financial crisis for families and birthing people.
The PFGP is a one-time, $1,000 maximum, emergency gift to birthing persons who are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level and lose their baby (or babies) to stillbirth or infant loss in Ohio. The gift is given in the form of food assistance (up to $200 grocery gift card) and one month of utilities paid directly to utility companies.
Alive In My Heart (AIMH) works with hospitals, social workers, community health workers, healthcare plans and organizations (Referral Partners) that are in direct contact with families affected by the loss of a baby. Referral Partners are familiar with the PFGP Policies and Procedures, and present the PFGP Application to qualifying parents.
Once the application is filled out and signed, the Referral Partner contacts AIMH. AIMH follows up with the parent (or preferred contact if noted on the application) and coordinates delivery of the support items.
Email us below if you are interested in becoming a Referral Partner. We will be in touch with you soon.
