A day to celebrate all fathers
Last year we had many requests to have an event for Father’s Day. We are excited this year to hold one on June 15th. These fathers are so special to us. They hold us; mentally, emotionally, and physically. They are our rock, as this world keeps spinning when it should stop. When we feel alone, they are the ones reminding us that they are living this right along with us. They are the most special of all fathers. They also grieve in their own way, even when they feel the pressure to be the “strong one.”
We want to take time to acknowledge how wonderful these men are. We want to give them a chance to sit back, relax, eat and be with others that know how hard this walk of grief can be. No one has the pressure to tell their story, but just connecting and being in the presence of other dads can help everyone walk away knowing they are not alone.
We strive to meet the varying needs of different loss families as best we can. We get requests both for events that include and do not include living children. Since our Mother’s Day event this year is for adults only, we have chosen to make this event one that welcomes families. We know siblings who have lost a brother or sister want that time to celebrate and honor their whole family as well. Please come join us and bring your family on this special day. We will provide a great picnic lunch. Then after eating, we will have some special activities to do in the name of our little ones. We will also have fun things for the siblings to create. Come enjoy a time of being with other families that know what it is like to lose a baby.
